Rappelz is set in a world where three races the gaia, Deva and Asura stride to conquer. Each race has an affinity for a primal force such as light, darkness and nature. The races draw their power and skills from these sources. The story line is intrinsic and entertaining. Players will pick a faction and progress through the story line. Each class has special traits and weaknesses therefore choosing for race and class is a serious matter.
 
Rappelz uses a different game play style from many other MMORPGs. Experience points and damage can be conserved via point system known as Lak. Battle chips are used to boost a player’s ability power. Obtaining these artifacts is by killing monsters and opposing players. Players will unlock special skills and specializations as they progress through quests and increase in levels.

Dungeons are common throughout Rappelz. Player can access these dungeons through the portal systems found all over the world. Many varieties of monsters inhabit these dungeons and players must venture in with comrades due to the level and strength of these monsters. Defeating monsters within these dungeons rewards players with items and weapons as well as experience.

The unique dungeon siege system allows guilds with skillful players to battle other guilds of equal strength. This is the most unique aspect of Rappelz. Defeating other guilds will reward players with legendary items and weapons. For players who love group play and love being in a guild Rappelz is ideal. It promotes group play and also rewards it.
