Guild Wars is a periodic series of online role-playing game. Guild Wars is developed by ArenaNet, and it is published by NCsoft. Because of some typical differences, developer calls it CORPG. CORPG, a competitive online role-playing game is a sort of MMORPG. The important difference in between CORPG and MMORPG is attentiveness on competitive play. Guild Wars is an example of CORPG. Guild Wars provides two different modes in the game. The modes contain a co-operative role-playing component and a competitive player vs. player (PvP) component; these two modes are available on the servers of ArenaNet

In between April 2005 to August 2007, three stand- alone episodes and one expansion pack were released in the market.

Guild Wars Prophecies

ArenaNet, a game developer studio organized the campaign for Guild Wars Prophecies.
The first campaign in GW series belongs to GW prophecies, and it is a type of action RPGs. Guild Wars prophecies introduced players in the world of GW containing Tyria and some other core components.

Guild Wars Prophecies presented the six core game professions, including 

• Warrior,
• Ranger,
• Monk,
• Elementalist,
• Necromancer, and
• Mesmer.

The specific non-core professions appear in all four promotions. These professions are

• Ritualist,
• Assassin,
• Paragon, and
• Dervish.

Though these professions can travel to Tyria via their port city, they are excluded in Tyria.
 
ArenaNet is developing Guild Wars 2, a fantasy MMORPG. Declared in 2007, it is the final Guild Wars expansion, Eye of the North.
