Eq Plat: Everquest the beginning of the online games
Mon, July 26, 2010

During the release of Everquest there were several other games out there Dark Age of Camelot and Anarchy online. However Everquest was one of the few games that a large content and required the least from a PC. Eq Plat was the in-game currency. The professions were vast and diverse as they could be in Everquest. Eq Plat was traded for weapons, skills and items. Players were able to traverse the world from over level 10. The cities and characters look exceptional. The monster A.I is fairly difficult as they tend to chase players.

Many of the servers were stable during Everquest’s peak, having well over a dozen servers for its fan base. Players were given a large pool to choose from. Players are able to choose their alignment depending on the race they choose. The basic factions consist of Good and evil. Quests may affect your alignment depending on which quest you pick for your character. The rewards for quest completion are Eq Plat and experience points. The classes available are subtle in their integration players will specialize in their class around level 30.

The PvP in Everquest was basic players having Skirmishes throughout the World due to faction differences. There was no armour reward or Eq Plat given to the PvP battles. Players are also given transportation throughout the world if they can afford it. The armor and weapon graphics were quite pleasant. Armor was more detailed as the level progressed. The cities were the most visually stunning scene present in the game. The cities have been properly decorated with the appropriate colours and the sounds to make it represent each faction. Peasants in each city sound different depending on the city as well.

Everquest focused mainly on cooperation and provided a fun past time for people who enjoy group quests and raiding dungeons.
